Cheryl's Ring Drama

Cheryl Cole's wedding ring is making headlines again.

According to The Sun, thieves tried to steal Cheryl's £310,000 rings from her Surrey home.

The paper reports her footballer husband, Ashley Cole, phoned the police after being awoken in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Reports say Ashley was woken up by a window being broken, and that he then called the police, allegedly saying: "Please come quick. Someone's trying to break in."

Cheryl's heart-shaped wedding ring was given to her by Ashley in 2006, and in 2008 he splashed out again, buying her a £160,000 beautiful square-cut diamond.

Cheryl flew to Los Angeles the day after her explosive Brit Awards performance, and her rep told Sky Showbiz: "Cheryl Cole is in the States for writing and recording sessions. This is a session that was scheduled last month. She is away for a week."

This follows reports that she had allegedly fled London amid speculation about her marriage.

The Sun quotes a senior police source as saying: "It cannot be coincidence that people attempt to break into the family home when both of them are due to be out of the UK."
