Azzurri coach ponders dream final.
Italy coach Marcello Lippi has admitted he would love to know how England boss Fabio Capello would react to a World Cup Final against his country of birth.
"Dreaming a little as I did, I would like a beautiful final between Italy and England," he told AS.
“I want to see how they would react when Fabio Capello rang the Italian national anthem. I would like that."
Lippi went on to heap praise on his compatriot, revealing he is not at all surprised by the development of England under the multi-scudetto winning coach.
"It is normal to expect positive results from a team coached by Capello,” he said. “He has contributed his personality, charisma and ability to create a team that looks very solid.
While Lippi acknowledged England’s fine record in qualification, he did warn England fans that the tournament itself is another proposition entirely.
"Of course, qualifying is one thing while the World Cup itself is another."
