GLASGOW, Scotland (AP)—Scotland coach Craig Levein plans to compile a dossier of every player eligible to represent the national team in an effort to qualify for a first major tournament since 1998.
Levein and scout Michael Oliver plan to contact every player agent in Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland to find out which players qualify through family descent or residency.
Levein says in the past Scotland had “relied on word of mouth.”
Levein will take charge of the team for the first time in March with a friendly against Czech Republic.
Scotland has not made it to a tournament since the 1998 World Cup in France.
