Martin sends out Albion warning

Paul Martin has warned his Albion Rovers side there will be a cup shock this weekend - and told them to make sure that they are not on the wrong end of it.

The Coatbridge side's unbeaten start to the season came to an end last Saturday with a 1-0 defeat by Queen's Park and they travel to Lossiemouth in the Scottish Cup knowing their opponents will see them as a potentially major scalp.

Martin said: "It will be a difficult game. Lossiemouth are a bit of a trojan horse, what you see is not what you get because a lot of their guys work offshore and there is a great variety in their team selection.

"I'm expecting us to go and fight like our lives depended on it. This is Lossiemouth's biggest game of the season. They beat Newton Stewart and they will want to follow that up with success against us.

"There are no sure things in football as Barcelona and Rangers found out this week. There will be a shock at the weekend and we just have to make sure it's not Albion Rovers."

Lossiemouth manager Charlie Charlesworth has a doubt over Dan Smith who has not trained since the match against Turriff United earlier this month.

Scott Matheson is offshore and misses out while Gary MacNicol has work commitments.

Charlesworth said: "We are seen as underdogs but our tempo and possession has been pretty good recently. Despite everything, our performances are getting there. We are starting to come back into contention with regards to who we play but there are no two ways about it, this game is going to really, really tough."
