Top seed Novak Djokovic, Kei Nishikori and Tomas Berdych, seeded eight, completed straight-sets victories to reach the quarter-finals at the ATP 1000 Madrid Open on Thursday (5th May).

Novak Djokovic sealed his 30th in of the season at the Madrid Open on Thursday.

The world number one overcame Roberto Bautista Agut 6-2, 6-1 to move into the quarter-finals.

Djokovic hit 25 winners and only made 11 unforced errors during the routine win.

Also through is Tomas Berdych who had come through a much tougher encounter against David Ferrer.

Berdych overcame a first set tie-break, before finally seeing off Ferrer with an ace. The Czech victor will face Andy Murray in the quarters.

Earlier in the day Sixth seed Kei Nishikori beat Richard Gasquet 6-4, 7-5 in another closely fought match.
