  • Intro:

Reaction after Alain Vigneault's New York Rangers are beaten 6-5 by Jon Cooper's Tampa Bay Lightning, who take a 2-1 lead in the NHL ice hockey Eastern Conference finals series.

    Script:

SOUNDBITE: (English) Alain Vigneault, New York Rangers Head Coach

" I mean, guys are trying hard right now. I mean, it's a one-goal game. It's a game where I thought we showed a lot of character coming back and evening this up in regulation. Got a little unfortunate on the game-winner there. But our guys are battling, and went to overtime tonight. We're going to look at the game, see if there are some areas that we can improve on and get ready for the next one."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Jon Cooper, Tampa Bay Lightning Head Coach

"I prefer to play this way if we keep winning. I think we've got a pretty quick team, and they have a quick team. So I don't know how it looks to everybody else, I don't know how it looks on TV, but when you're standing there, it is just, pardon the pun, it is lightning fast. And it's just amazing how the skill level and the speed, and how these guys can play the way they do at that high pace. But I don't know. They probably haven't seen a team like us on a regular basis, but they're probably looking a little bit in the mirror because we play similar styles. And fortunately for us these last couple here have worked out for us."
