Wonder goal wins Trables' first Lebanon Cup

    Trables Sports won the Lebanon Cup for the first time in their history after a 2-1 victory against Al Nejmeh on Tuesday (19th May).

    Script:

    Al Nejmeh were hoping to win a sixth Lebanon Cup when they faced Trables Sports Club on Tuesday (19th May) in the final in Saida.

    Despite six cup triumphs, it's been seventeen years since Al Nejmeh triumphed.

    Meanwhile their opponents, Trables Sports, were looking to win the cup for the first time in their history.

    Trables started strongly and almost close in the fourth minute, Ahmed Taktook stopping an effort from Ghanaian Nkrumah Douglas.

    Al Nejmeh's Kassem Al Zein then hit the bar shortly after.

    And the game remained goalless at half time.

    Then the game quite brilliantly kicked into life in the 58th minute.

    Ghanaian striker, Michael Kafui Helegbe with a 35-yard shot.

    As Al Nejmeh went for broke, Trables doubled their lead in the 88th minute after a mistake from defender Kassem Al Zein allowed Waleed Fatooh to doubles Trables' lead.

    Al Nejmeh scored deep into injury time, but it was merely a consolation.

    Trables held on to their lead to win the Lebanon Cup for the first time - sparking jubilant scenes of celebration on and off the pitch.
