    Script:

Real Madrid are on track for a third straight Final Four appearance in the Euroleague following a fiercely contested win over Anadolu Efes Istanbul on Friday.

The Spanish side took control of the first quarter.

But Efes clawed their way back in the second and went eight points clear at the halfway point.

The game appeared to be slipping away from Madrid as they fell 17 points behind in the third.

A late rally however saw them finish the quarter 63-66.

Amid the rising tension, Madrid continued to fight back.

This Felipe Reyes three-pointer giving them a narrow one-point lead.

The home side held their nerve in the end with Sergio Rodriguez clinching the game for Madrid with two free throws.

The 90-85 victory securing Madrid a 2-0 series lead.

In the night's other playoff, Olympiacos Piraeus became the first team to record a playoff win on the road by downing FC Barcelona.

Despite some star power in the crowd Barcelona couldn't break down the Greek side's strong defence or deal with a barrage of three pointers.

The final score was 76-63 - ending Barcelona's nine-game winning streak.

The series is now tied at 1-1.

Olympiacos will go into games 3 and 4 next week boosted by their home court advantage.
