Raonic beats Young at the Swiss Indoors

    Fourth seed Milos Raonic of Canada hit 23 aces - including on match point - to beat Donald Young of the United States 6-4, 6-7 (5), 7-6 (2) on Thursday (October 23) to reach the quarter-finals of the Swiss Indoors in Basel.

    After a straight set win over Steve Johnson in round one, another American awaited Canadian Milos Raonic in the Swiss Indoors.

    This one put up a much tougher fight though.

    After dropping the opener 6-4, Donald Young bounced back to take the second set on a tiebreak winning it, to take the set 7-6 and make it 1 set a piece.

    The third was another tense affair.

    But with the serve working well, the fourth seed from Canada finally came through after over two hours on court.

    Ace number 23 securing the set, again on a tiebreak. Raonic taking the match 6-4, 6-7, 7-6.

    Elsewhere 17-year-old wild card entry Borna Coric proved too good for Andrey Golubev of Kazakhstan.

    The conqueror of sixth seed Ernests Gulbis in the opener, the Croatian came through 6-4, 6-4.
