Mourinho slams international managers

Tuesday, October 21 2014 by SNTV
  • Intro:

Diego Costa will miss Chelsea's Champions League Group G clash with Maribor (20th October).

Mourinho claimed that some national managers do not care about their players' clubs.

The Chelsea boss revealed the only international manager to have spoken to him personally this season was England's Roy Hodgson.

    Script:

SOUNDBITE: (English) Jose Mourinho, Chelsea manager (on whether Chelsea will miss Diego Costa v Maribor):

"No, you speak about Diego. I don't speak about Diego. I say to my players I don't want us to speak about injured players. If they are injured, they are injured. If somebody is injured I always look at it as an opportunity for another player. So, he's not here, he's not here."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Jose Mourinho, Chelsea manager (on international teams speaking to clubs):

"You have national coaches and you have medical departments in the federations that want to establish a relationship and they are interested in the situation of the player, what the players are doing, their physical conditions and their habits before matches, after matches, between matches. And some others - they simply don't care. And this is something we cannot resolve. I cannot call the technical departments of the federations and say I want to speak with the manager or my doctor wants to speak with that doctor. That is something that is out of our hands."
