Afghanistan have touched down and started training on Australian soil in Saturday in Perth, in preparation for the 2015 ICC World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
All four ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 qualifiers will be present in Australia this week with Ireland and Scotland arriving in Queensland and Tasmania respectively to continue their preparations for the tournament .
The matches are part of the ICC's High Performance Programme, intended to aid the non test match side.
Afghanistan will travel to Canberra on 24th September after completing two tour matches against a Western Australia XI in Perth - and captain Mohammad Nabi thinks the programme is brilliant for lesser teams' preparations....
SOUNDBITE: Mohammad Nabi, Afghanistan captain:
"It's a good sign that we have done (are playing) that match. Also, on this ground at the WACA, we have a game in the (2015)World Cup. We play against Australia in this ground. Maybe we will prepare for that game."
The UAE meanwhile, After losing their first two matches to Western Australia in Perth, bounced back upon arriving in Darwin with a comfortable four-wicket win over the Northern Territory Strike.
They then backed that win up chasing down 267 runs in 48 overs to defeat Papua New Guinea.
Their tour will conclude next week in Darwin with two matches against South Australia.
