Dad botches his son’s meeting with footballing hero — when he accidentally films the pavement instead

A BUNGLING dad botched his son’s dream meeting with his footballing hero — when all he captured on camera was the pavement.
Thomas Attwell, 41, was accidentally already recording with his phone pointing down when Chelsea star Ben Chilwell, 25, hugged his son Jack, ten, before Saturday’s FA Cup final.

Flipping the phone up to film the moment, he pressed record again, stopping the video.
The firefighter, from Epsom, Surrey, said: "We lost the game on penalties but Jack was more gutted about my mishap.
"I don’t know how it happened. We went in early to watch them warming up right next to us.
"Jack was shouting at injured Ben Chilwell as he walked past so I got the phone ready and started recording with it pointed down at my feet.
"He kindly came over to give him a fistbump and put his arm around him for a picture.
"My heart sank when I went to show him the video but it wasn’t there.
"I must have pressed record without realising I was already filming.
"Jack instantly started welling up and burst into tears.
"I’ve never felt so bad."
