MANCHESTER UNITED ace Paul Pogba has been tipped to leave Old Trafford in the summer.

Manchester United ace Paul Pogba has apparently told club chiefs that he wants to move to Real Madrid in the summer. The 28-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season and looks set to call time on his spell in the Premier League.

Pogba arrived at the 13-times Premier League champions for a second time in 2016 after the Red Devils shelled out a club record £89million to prise him away from Juventus.

He had already had a spell in Manchester as a youngster before departing for Italy in 2012.

Pogba arrived with a reputation as one of the most talented players in the world after dazzling at Juve.

But the France international has failed to live up to expectations and has been plagued by inconsistent form, as well as injuries.

Speculation around Pogba’s future has been rife over the last couple of years as the end of his contract has been edging closer.

And, according to The Star, it appears the player will soon be turning his back on the Red Devils.

The 2018 World Cup winner is yet to play under Ralf Rangnick as he has been struggling with a groin injury, although he has now been passed fit.

But United’s interim manager has insisted that he still intends to play the superstar in the coming months even if Pogba’s motivation is only to show potential suitors what he can do.

"My contract as a manager is also expiring in the summer,” Rangnick said.

"For us, we have the same goal. We have the same ambition, to be as successful as we can possibly be in the next three or four months.

"For me it's not a question if a player has an expiring contract. The question is how much does he still want to be a part of this group - how much does he still feel emotionally and physically on board.

"As long as this is the case, why shouldn't Paul Pogba play now after two and half months of injury?

"He's fully fit again now and he also wants to show up - he wants to show the fans of Manchester United, the board, the whole world what kind of player he can be.

"And even if it's only to show enough for a new contract elsewhere, he will be highly motivated to do that, so why should I then not play him?

"There is a difference in how players deal with their current situation. How do they handle that?

"If they handle that in a professional way, an ambitious way, of course I will play players, although they have a contact expiring in the summer.”
