Barcelona 'strike agreement' with Juventus, as attacking partner lined up for Ferran Torres

Word stemming from the Spanish media on Thursday evening points towards another January addition to the frontline of La Liga giants FC Barcelona inching closer to completion.

Torres secured

The subject of transfers has of course taken its place front and centre when it comes to developments at the Camp Nou over recent weeks.

This comes as new boss Xavi Hernandez prepares for his first opportunity to put a personal stamp on the playing squad in the Catalan capital, by means of the January transfer window.

A whole host of Blaugrana stars have already been tipped for exits, including the likes of Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Samuel Umtiti and even star midfielder Frenkie de Jong.

On the incomings front, meanwhile, the headline news has, of course, come in the form of the big-money arrival of Manchester City talent Ferran Torres:

Morata incoming?

The transfer team at Barcelona, however, are understood to be far from done when it comes to winter additions to Xavi's ranks.

A rake of players, particularly in the attacking third, have been earmarked as potential signings next month, with a Blaugrana move for one such individual, as alluded to above, inching towards a positive outcome on Thursday evening.

The player in question? Alvaro Morata.

In something of a bolt from the blue earlier today, word began to do the rounds in the media that Spanish international Morata had been identified as a surprise target on the part of Xavi and co.

And now, just hours later, claims of a major step forward in the transfer process have begun to mount, too.

As per a report from The Mirror, citing the reliable Catalunya Radio, Barcelona have reached an agreement with Juventus, to take Morata to the Camp Nou in January.

The 29-year-old is currently on loan at the Allianz Stadium, from parent club Atletico Madrid.

This means that, though Juve may have agreed to sanction Morata's exit next month, Barca still need to negotiate with La Liga rivals Atleti, before what is expected to come in the form of a loan agreement can be reached.
