Lazio chief Igli Tare has revealed they're in new contract talks with coach Maurizio Sarri.
Sarri has a deal to 2023 and Lazio are now seeking to extend that to 2025.
"Yes, it is a shared decision, prompted also by Sarri's request," Tare told Sky Italia.
"He sees the opportunity to work well at Formello. This is a strong signal that we have started a project here.
"It is just the first phase and we need patience, but want to send a signal for the future."
The results and performances have so far been deeply inconsistent, so what stage are Lazio at right now?
"The priority at this moment is to have the team organised on the pitch. We did well with Atalanta and Fiorentina, we've got a grasp of the situation and now just need to find more belief and consistency.
"Sarri's tactical system is a difficult one to apply, but once it becomes automatic in the minds of the players, we can do much better."
