Dybala rescues a point for Juventus in Derby d'Italia against Inter

The 242nd edition of the Derby d'Italia ended in a draw, as Edin Dzeko put Inter ahead in the first half before Paulo Dybala converted a penalty late in the match to help Juventus snatch a point.

Juventus hit the ground running and missed a big chance to take the lead after seven minutes, when Samir Handanovic denied Alvaro Morata before blocking Alex Sandro's rebound.

Inter grew into the game, with Hakan Calhanoglu hitting the right post before Dzeko pounced on the rebound to put the hosts ahead at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.

Juan Cuadrado's effort from the edge of the box went narrowly wide and Juventus produced no more clear chances until the 86th minute, when Alex Sandro was awarded a controversial penalty after referee Maurizio Mariani reviewed a challenge from Denzel Dumfries on the pitchside monitor.

Dybala's equaliser

Dybala, who came off the bench to replace Cuadrado after the hour mark, stepped up in the 89th minute to convert from the spot and equalise for the Old Lady.

Reigning champions Inter are now sitting third in the table, seven points behind joint-leaders Napoli and AC Milan, while Juventus are seventh, 10 points off the top.
