Former Chelsea and Inter Milan boss Antonio Conte is being heavily linked with the Manchester United job as pressure continues to build on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
Antonio Conte is reportedly interested in the Manchester United job and motivated by a desire to prove that he is one of the best coaches in world football.
Former Chelsea manager Conte, 52, has been without a club since parting company with Inter Milan at the end of last season, having led them to their first Serie A title in a decade.
The fiery Italian has been heavily linked with the United job in recent weeks as pressure continues to build on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Solskjaer is facing questions over his future at Old Trafford following a disappointing run of results which has seen United fail to win their last three matches in the Premier League.

Conte is not only a proven winner, he is also currently without a club, making him an attractive candidate if they decide to dispense with Solskjaer.
Respected journalist Duncan Castles says the former Chelsea and Inter Milan boss is interested in the United job, but only if certain conditions are met.
Speaking on The Transfer Window Podcast, he said: "I think there are two obvious candidates in terms of coaches who have achieved at the top level of the game, who are out of work and would be available to Manchester United without compensation fees.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is a man under pressure
"One is Zinedine Zidane and one is Antonio Conte. Conte's position, I'm told, is that he is interested in the Manchester United job but not without restrictions.
"Antonio Conte, when he chooses his next club, wants a club where he can win the Champions League. He wants to demonstrate, he's wanted to do it for a long time, that he is one of the very best coaches in world football.
"To do that he knows he has to win the Champions League, so Manchester United are interesting because of the squad they've got, because of their status and because of the resource that is behind them."
Conte won Serie A with Inter Milan last season but left the club in the summer
However, Castles also acknowledged that Conte would require certain conditions to be met for him to take over at Old Trafford, including unwavering support from the board and the ability to choose his own tactics.
He added the out of work boss would require strong buy-in from the players, in a way not dissimilar to Jose Mourinho, and the ability to push them hard and be supported in that.
