Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo might be one of the game's biggest stars, but he still has time for young supporters chancing their arm looking to grab a quick selfie

Cristiano Ronaldo made a young Manchester United fan's day by stopping for a selfie outside the club's training ground.

The hopeful supporter positioned himself on the side of the road, close to Carrington's entrance, with a homemade sign hoping to catch a quick glimpse of the superstar.

His sign read: "Ronaldo please could you stop. It would make my weekend."

And lo-and-behold, when the former Real Madrid and Juventus star drove up to the boy in his £170,000 Lamborghini Urus he granted the youngster's plea and pulled over.

Ronaldo then went one better and arranged a quick snap with the lad before exchanging brief pleasantries and driving into training.

It was a small, but touching gesture from the five-time Ballon d'Or winner who has scored three goals in two matches since returning to Old Trafford from Juventus.

The 36-year-old was one of many members of the United squad arriving at the club's training base before travelling down for Sunday's away fixture at West Ham.

Out-of-favour stars Donny van den Beek and Alex Telles were also pictured on the same road but both are unlikely to feature much at the London Stadium.

Ronaldo's arrival has been welcomed by all factions at Manchester United, including Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the fans and players, who are already taking tips from the Portuguese.

Ahead of last weekend's 4-1 win over Newcastle, where Ronaldo marked his Premier League return with two goals, United's stars sat down for their customary Friday night meal.

Reserve goalkeeper Lee Grant has revealed that, on inspecting Ronaldo's plate, none of his team-mates were keen to take advantage of the array of desserts on offer.

He told Talksport: "To give you one instance of the impact he is having on the group, this was Friday night in the hotel.

"So, as you guys will be aware, you finish your dinner and usually on a Friday night you've got some cheat stuff out. You've got some apple crumble and custard or you've got a bit of brownie and cream.

"I tell you now, not one player touched the apple crumble and custard, not one player went up for that brownie because everybody was sat down.

Ronaldo has scored three goals in two appearances since making his return to the club

Meanwhile, Solskjaer has sought to dismiss any speculation that the players are unable to cope with Ronaldo's mega-star presence.

"I think it's life as normal, we've signed a good player," said the United boss.

"There's always loads of attention around Cristiano, he copes with it and the players, they just get on with the job and cope with it as well.

"It was a big occasion of course last week with Newcastle, the excitement of the crowd and I thought we did really well, we handled the situation and of course Cristiano, as well, delivered."
