Erling Haaland’s future has been the talk of the summer - but it seems that Real Madrid have beaten Europe’s biggest clubs to securing his services from next summer

Erling Haaland and Real Madrid have made a ‘pre-agreement’ over a 2022 transfer from Borussia Dortmund.

The 21-year-old’s future has been one of the biggest talking points of the summer, with next summer marking his £64m release clause being active.

With his £172m valuation putting clubs off this year, it has seen clubs such as Madrid, Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City get linked with his signature.

But Spanish journalist Siro Lopez has reported that it is the Bernabeu side that are leading the way for 2022.

Speaking on Twitch , he said: "Haaland? What I know is there is a pre-agreement between Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund and Haaland for the player to join Madrid in 2022."

This contrasts reports from Germany which suggest the youngster is ‘dreaming’ of a move to the Premier League.

Haaland has only been at Dortmund since January 2020 but has managed to score 62 goals in 62 games for the Bundesliga side.

And he added two in the first league game of the season against Eintracht Frankfurt while also assisting two others.

Haaland played a crucial role to get the scoring started after 23 minutes, charging towards the defence before putting it on a plate for Marco Reus.

And the 21-year-old was part of another counter-attack when the scores were levelled, setting up Thorgan Hazard to slot into the net.

Two minutes later, though, the forward had his first league goal of the season.

Haaland latched onto a loose ball behind the Frankfurt defence before sprinting away and slotting it past Kevin Trapp.

And it has seen Real pounce ahead of their European rivals to secure a 'pre-agreement'

12 minutes later, though, Haaland did have his brace - this time Reus finding the 21-year-old running clear before shoving off a tackle and curling into the bottom-right corner.

It means that, with just two games of the first round of Bundesliga fixtures left, Haaland is already top of the scoring charts.

One man who could be attempting to break up the ‘pre-agreement’, though, is United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer who ‘constantly receives’ updates on the forward he worked with at Molde.
