Jurgen Klopp quizzed on Liverpool's summer business/Hints at potentially adding another signing

Liverpool's quiet summer window

Liverpool have had a pretty quiet summer transfer window overall.

The Reds have, thus far, made just one first-team signing. Ibrahima Konate joined the club back in May from RB Leipzig.

The Frenchman is understood to have set the Merseysiders back £36m, and will no doubt prove a fine addition to a squad that endured serious issues at centre-back last term.

Outside of Konate, Liverpool are yet to sign anyone else, but have parted with Harry Wilson, Taiwo Awoniyi and Marko Grujic, whilst also seeing Georginio Wijnaldum leave on a free transfer.

'There might be something happening'

In turn, with Wijnaldum gone and direct rivals like Manchester City and Manchester United having spent big, Liverpool's fans will no doubt be hopeful of seeing at least one more new face come through the Anfield doors this month.

And, when quizzed on his side's summer business during a recent interview, Jurgen Klopp did appear to suggest that the Reds could yet dip back into the market.

After first assuring that he is satisfied with the current options at his disposal, Klopp went on to add that 'there might be something happening' at the club before the window slams shut at the end of the month:

"I am very happy with the squad, but it doesn't mean that we don't look at the market.

"But as long as nothing happens, I am more than happy with the squad I have. I am more than happy with the players I have.

"We have so many things that you cannot sign. You cannot sign our counter-pressing, you cannot sign our atmosphere that we create in the stadium, you cannot sign Anfield, you cannot sign our anthem.

"You cannot sign a lot of things and that's what we have to use. There are other approaches out there, obviously, and we have influence on that. Our situation is like it is.

"We have a big squad and there might be something happening until the end of the transfer window, but I cannot say anything about that at the moment."
