Trent Alexander-Arnold has signed a new four-year contract at Anfield.

Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold has signed a bumper new contract with the club, which will keep him at Anfield until 2025. The deal outlines the player and the club's commitment to each other, after the flying Liverpool-born right-back spent well over a decade working through the youth ranks.

The 22-year-old has been virtually ever-present in the Liverpool back line over the past three seasons, racking up over 40 appearances in each of them.

His delivery, either from set-pieces or otherwise, has become known as one of the best in the world, making him an invaluable attacking weapon for Jurgen Klopp.

With Andy Robertson also flying down the left flank, the duo have nurtured a reputation as one of the best full-back pairings in world football.

Thanks to the latest display of commitment by the Reds, Alexander-Arnold is now set to stay with the club until at least the age of 26.

On the subject of his new deal, the Englishman said: “I'm honoured to be given the opportunity and to be shown the trust in the club to be given an extension, so it was a no-brainer for me.

"The state the club is in and where I'm at in my career is always a good option for me. To extend and make sure I'm here longer is always a good thing. I'm made up.

"It's the only club I've ever really known, so to be here for this amount of time and extending to be here for a longer amount of time is amazing for me and my family.

"It's a proud moment for me – it always is – signing a new contract here. To be given the trust, like I said before, by the club and the staff is an amazing feeling.

"I live the dream every day really. Being able to represent the club and to be in and around names and players, and obviously managers and staff, that are world class every day is a privilege for me and I'm very fortunate to be in the position I am."

Tying the right-back down to a new deal could be one of the most important pieces of business Liverpool have pulled off this summer.

Although there appeared no imminent risk of a departure, ensuring that the club retain the services of one of the best attacking right-backs in the world cannot be scoffed at.

Elsewhere, it has been a relatively quiet summer for Liverpool so far, having completed the £36million signing of Ibrahima Konate earlier in the window.

Gini Wijnaldum was lost to PSG towards the beginning of the summer, while finding his replacement still remains on Klopp's to do list before the window closes.

If nothing else, confirming Alexander-Arnold's new contract crosses another thing off the priority list for Liverpool. Going forward, they can concentrate on any remaining targets between now and the end of the summer.
