Paul Pogba has been sent a clear message by some Paris Saint-Germain fans that he is not welcome to join the club this summer.

The Ligue 1 giants have made Pogba their main transfer target for the remainder of the summer, as they look to convince Kylian Mbappe to remain in the French capital.

However, some fans of PSG have declared their open opposition to the idea of their club signing the midfielder, as demonstrated by a banner they hung outside the Parc des Princes on Saturday.

"Pogba you should listen to your mother, she doesn't want you here. Neither do we!" read the message.

A key reason as to why PSG fans are so strongly opposed to their club signing the 28-year-old could be due to an interview he gave back in May 2018, when he stated that he would never play for the club.

"I'm sure that I wouldn't play club football at the Parc des Princes," Pogba told Canal+.

"I'm not attracted to that because my father and mother were fans of Marseille, so Paris doesn't really fit into my plans."

However, a move to Paris is now viewed as being viable, as it emerged on Thursday that Pogba had rejected a new contract at Manchester United, according to the Mirror.

With 12 months remaining on his current contract in Manchester, the English club could look to cash in now by selling him to PSG.

The next star name at PSG?

Should he make the move to Paris, he will join Georginio Wijnaldum, Achraf Hakimi, Gianluigi Donnarumma and Sergio Ramos as the latest big name arrival in a series of high-profile signings by the club, as they look to secure their first Champions League trophy next season.

However, as a few fans of the Parisian club have demonstrated, Pogba will not be welcome into the Parc des Princes with open arms, regardless of his status as one of the best midfielders in world football.
