Zidane's plan: Football is no longer a question of money for him, it is about heart

When Zinedine Zidane resigned from his role as Real Madrid coach on May 27, it was clear that his second spell at the club would be his last.
A month and a half later, Zidane is relaxed over his future, as there is only one job that he is truly contemplating - being coach of the France national team.
However, these plans, as revealed by L'Equipe, will have to wait in light of the confirmation that Didier Deschamps will remain in charge of France for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Nevertheless, Zidane is in no rush and, as the French publication have pointed out, he has rejected significant offers from England, the Gulf and Asia.
"Football is no longer a question of money for [Zidane], it is about heart," a source close to Zidane told L'Equipe.
"And there will always be four places that he will have a preference for: Bordeaux, Juventus, Real Madrid and the France national team."
His wife and children
Zidane's priority at the moment is spending time with his family, having been unable to do so as much as he would have liked during his time at Real Madrid.
"When he was Real Madrid coach, and even more during his second spell with [the impact of] COVID-19, Zidane lived almost solely for the club," continued the source.
"He would get up every day at 6am to be at Valdebebas at 7:30am, and he was there until 7pm.
"He had the same lifestyle when he was a player."
Looking ahead to the future, Zidane has one clear career goal in mind: to be the France coach in the future.
"He will let time and events follow their course, he doesn't want to put pressure on anything," said the source.
"All his relatives know that [the role of France coach] will be his next challenge.
"He doesn't want to immerse himself again in the life of a club."
