Married England football legend Michael Owen allegedly told a former reality star to send him 20 topless pictures - having previously urged her to fire across images that "leave nothing to the imagination."

The Mirror are reporting that Owen, 41, sent hundreds of texts to ex-Big Brother contestant Rebecca Jane, 36.

The Liverpool and Manchester United hero, who has spoken publicly about his life and marriage, is said to have included a string of explicit comments in his messages with Jane.

His flirting with the mum-of-two will come as a major shock to fans who have become accustomed to the role-model image he sustained during and after his football career.

In the exchange, Owen allegedly asked for nude pics after previously telling Jane to "leave nothing to the imagination" when sending him the first set of photos.

The BT Sport pundit is believed to have told her he viewed one of the images, in which she was wearing a see-through top, a staggering 65 times.

He is also alleged to have suggested they meet up at the races after being left intrigued by her physique, even asking if her breasts were "falsies".

Owen is understood to have bragged that most people think he's an "angel" until they actually meet him.

He started following Jane, who entered the Big Brother house back in 2017 and regularly appears as a guest on ITV show This Morning, on Twitter back in March before they began exchanging messages.

A pal said she was initially thrilled to be contacted by one of her childhood heroes, but the chat quickly turned sexual.

During one of his trips away from home, Owen allegedly asked her for more pictures, saying: "Come on then, fire them through. It's a long boring trip to London so I need something to do... leave nothing to the imagination. And I'll advise on the suitability of them for social media – hopefully none of them are suitable."

After she obliged, the ex-England ace said: "Tremendous by the way."

Jane then sent another photo, with Owen then replying: "Well you went straight in there with a pic of your t**s so there's no point taking a back step now. Hmmm. Not bad. Great t**. Definitely a no-go for social media.

"How about send me about 20? That'd be good."

Owen tied the knot with childhood sweetheart Louise Bonsall back in June 2005 and revealed in 2014 that he was "staring into an abyss called divorce" following the end of his football career.

But after undergoing marriage counselling he said five years later: "Now that my life-changing liaison with the idea of splitting up with Louise and the family in 2014 has passed, I'm pretty sure everyone who knows me will say that I'm now a completely different person – in the best possible way."

A spokesperson for Michael Owen declined to comment to the Daily Mirror when contacted. The Daily Star has contacted Owen's representatives.
