Harry Maguire is in Manchester United's 26-man travelling squad for the Europa League final against Villarreal.

The 26-year-old hasn't featured since coming off in United's 3-1 win over Aston Villa just over a fortnight ago.

It was revealed after the match at Villa Park that Maguire had sustained ankle ligament damage and was in a race to be fit for the Europa League final and this summer's European Championship.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer last week cast doubt over Maguire's participation in Wednesday's final, saying: "I’m like Jim Carrey in Dumb And Dumber, when he said ‘You’re telling me there is a chance?

"We still hope for Harry, we’re going to give him as much time as possible but the hope is getting slimmer."

Unlike Carrey's character in the 1994 film, it appears Maguire does now have a realistic chance of making the final in Gdansk.

Maguire's inclusion isn't the only surprising news in United's travelling squad, with Anthony Martial missing out altogether.

The Frenchman has been absent for the last two months with an knee injury, and despite returning to training in recent weeks, he will not be risked in Poland.

Youngsters Brandon Williams, Amad Diallo, Anthony Elanga and Shola Shoretire are all included in the travelling party, which leaves on Monday evening.
