Arsenal are interested in signing Brighton star Yves Bissouma ahead of the summer transfer window. The Daily Star claim Arsenal are confident of completing a £30million deal for Bissouma. Midfield is not the only area Mikel Arteta will target after a tough season domestically and Express Sport looks at how the Gunners could line up next season.

Goalkeeper - Simon

Reports from Spanish outlet La Razon claimed last week that Arteta has instructed the club to sign Unai Simon as a replacement for Bernd Leno.

Leno has been Arsenal's No 1 since 2018 but has made a string of high-profile errors this season.

Simon has won six caps for Spain since his debut last November and has been a regular for Athletic Bilbao for the past two seasons.

Leno only has two years to run on his deal so his value will only continue to decrease if Arsenal do not sell this summer.

Defence - Emerson, Saliba, Gabriel, Tierney

Arsenal are keen to sign a right-back and one of those options is Emerson Royal.

Emerson has impressed for Real Betis, though Barcelona own 50 per cent of the player's rights and have the option to sign him this summer - whether they do remains to be seen.

William Saliba has had vital game time on loan at Nice, starting 17 Ligue 1 matches to date.

If Arteta deems the 20-year-old ready for first-team action, he could line up alongside Gabriel at the back, with Kieran Tierney on the left of the defence.

Midfield - Bissouma, Partey; Smith Rowe

Bissouma would likely partner Thomas Partey if he were to complete a move to the Emirates.

The Mali international has been Brighton's stand-out player this season and Arsenal would be beating a host of Premier League sides to his signature.

Partey has had a difficult first season in England but perhaps a dynamic player such as Bissouma alongside him would help.

Arsenal want to sign a No 10 but Emile Smith Rowe has done enough to be given a chance from the start of next season.

Attack - Saka, Edouard, Pepe

With Alexandre Lacazette's future in doubt, Arsenal could be in the market for a striker.

Eddie Nketiah could also leave the club, so Celtic frontman Odsonne Edouard - who is a long-term target - could be brought in.

Bukayo Saka is already one of the first names on the team sheet despite not turning 20 until September.

And Nicolas Pepe is starting to show his best form and could keep captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang out of the side.
