Barcelona reportedly think Tottenham are open to selling Harry Kane in this summer’s transfer window. The England international is under consideration at the Nou Camp as Joan Laporta hunts a long-term replacement for Luis Suarez. However, Erling Haaland and Lautaro Martinez are their priorities at the current moment in time.

Barcelona want a new striker this summer.

While they’ve done well enough without Suarez, Laporta knows the club still need a long-term replacement for the Atletico Madrid star.

Haaland is currently their top transfer target, with Barcelona holding talks about a potential transfer with the player’s agent Mino Raiola on Thursday.

Martinez has emerged as their alternative, however, with interest in the Inter Milan star dating back to Ernesto Valverde’s spell in charge.

Now, however, Sport have claimed that Barcelona are interested in Kane.

The England international was coy on his future recently, refusing to declare whether he wanted to stay at Tottenham or not.

That’s seen him linked with a host of clubs in the short time since, ranging from Real Madrid to Manchester United, PSG to Manchester City.

Yet Barcelona are interested too and, what’s more, think Tottenham would be open to selling Kane this summer in order to generate huge money from any potential sale.

They feel Spurs wouldn’t sell their star striker to a Premier League rival, effectively ruling out United and City.

But Barcelona believe they’re in a good position to go after Kane should they miss out on Haaland and Martinez, who are their preferred targets for the time being.

The Catalan giants have reportedly been given glowing reports on the Tottenham star behind the scenes, believing he could get even better over at the Nou Camp.

And what ultimately happens remains to be seen.

Kane recently admitted he wasn’t bothered by speculation over his future, though did admit Tottenham had endured a difficult season under Jose Mourinho so far.

Asked if he'd have to move to win trophies Kane said: “I think that’s a hard question to answer right now.

“It’s important that all my focus is on the two England games coming up now and the rest of the season with Spurs and then the Euros.

“To be thinking about speculation or rumours would be damaging in terms of my own performance.

“I always like to be focused on one goal and one job and that’s to finish strong with Spurs, win these qualifiers with England and hopefully go on and have a great Euros.

“Look, I try to stay out of that speculation as much as possible. I’m fully focused on doing the job on the pitch from now until the end of the summer and then we’ll see where we go from there.”

He then added: “It’s been a difficult spell at Spurs but, look, we went into the Arsenal game winning five games in a row.

“Obviously the Arsenal game was difficult to take – in a north London derby you never want to lose. And going out of the Europa League was a big disappointment.

“But we bounced back last Sunday with a win and I think when you look at the bigger picture we’re a couple of points off top four and we’ve got a cup final to play.

“So if by the end of May we’ve finished in the top four and won the Carabao Cup I think everyone will say it’s been a pretty good season.

“In my career and as a person I never get too high or too low. It’s part of football.

“You’re going to go through tough spells and good spells. It’s important just to keep focused on the bigger picture.

“That’s what I’m trying to do and I’m sure the team are trying to do as well.”
