Abbey Clancy admits she'd rather watch Ronaldo play football than hubby Peter Crouch

Peter Crouch and Abbey Clancy may have been married since 2011, but the 35-year-old model says she still prefers to watch the Juventus heart-throb handle the ball

Abbey Clancy admits she would rather watch hunky footballer Cristiano Ronaldo play than hubby Peter Crouch.

The model, 35, reckons the Juventus heart-throb’s ball skills are better compared to the ex-England forward.

Abbey said: “Usually if I try and watch a match, honestly, all I can see is people just running around - including Pete.

"I really like watching Ronaldo though.

"He’s an amazing player. He’s skilful and whatever.

"Pete doesn’t like it when I say that. He always looks at me from the corner of his eye.”

Ronaldo, 36, came up against Crouch during his glittering spell at Manchester United.

In response to his wife’s remarks, the footie pundit, 40, said: “You like watching Ronaldo, do you? Hmm... interesting.”

However, Peter did admit Ronaldo “didn’t have a clue who I was” when they met on holiday in Ibiza.

"I saw him on the beach. He was busy getting through bottles of beer and had an ashtray balanced on his stomach.

"Every time he finished his drink, the supermodel who was with him brought him another.”

He did, however, tell The Daily Mail Ronaldo would be his “dream strike partner”.

He added: “I’m not sure our styles would have matched each other, but 90 minutes with him would have made my life.”

And now it’s clear it might well have made Abbey’s, too!

Though the WAG admitted she’s “not a football fan”, she says her dad “dragged” her to football her “whole life” and she "hated it”.

So it’s perhaps fair she gets something out of watching the games too!

The happy couple have been married since 2011, and will celebrate their tenth wedding anniversary in June.

They met in Liverpool bar Mosquito, where Peter “begged” Abbey to go out with him.

Last year they remarked on how they were getting on in lockdown, with Abbey commenting: “I’ve really enjoyed the lockdown. It’s such a special thing to pause life and have your husband and your kids with you every single day. We’re all so busy running around like headless chickens usually so I’ve been quite grateful for that.”

Peter also took to the UK’s TV screens last summer to present Peter Crouch: Save Our Summer - giving his wife some well deserved peace.
