Iker Casillas and Sara Carbonero have reportedly split up

Iker Casillas and Sara Carbonero are splitting up, five years after their wedding in 2016.

The pair had been dating long before that, with the former Spain goalkeeper sharing a famous moment with his journalist girlfriend - who is currently a Radio MARCA collaborator - after winning the 2010 World Cup with La Roja.

According to the magazine Lecturas, their separation is already a fact and they have been living at separate residences for some time.

Both Casillas and Carbonero have had health issues in recent years, with the former suffering a heart attack and the latter having been diagnosed with cancer.

Casillas accompanied her during her latest time in hospital, but they had already been living apart according to Lecturas.
