PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN star Marquinhos has revealed he would rather travel by taxi that in his £170,000 Ferrari.

But the 26-year-old Brazilian says that he keeps the supercar as a reminder of his success in the sport.

Despite having the riches to afford the high life, PSG captain Marquinhos is still in touch with his past life before becoming a multi-millionaire footballer.

In an interview with the French magazine 'So Foot' reported by RMC Sport, he said: "I bought it when I arrived at PSG, but it's true that I use it very little.

"I don't like driving, it bores me. I know that there are some who like to go out on their own, but this is not the case.

"The Ferrari, I take it out only with family or friends. I like that we take advantage of it all together."


The Brazil defender that although he does not drive the Ferrari 458 Italia much he still 'loves her' and that the machine is 'part of his story'.

He continued: "I always wanted to go pro, play for a big club and buy myself a nice car. I wanted to tick all of those boxes.

"So the day I bought it, it was historic. Ferrari keys in hand, I said to myself: 'This is it, you did it!'"

Marquinhos is regarded as one of the best centre-halves in the world.

The defender started his career in his homeland with Corinthians before joining Italian side Roma.

His talent was quickly recognised and PSG swooped in to sign him for £29m in 2013.

Marquinhos has won 22 trophies in the French capital, including six Ligue 1 titles.

He has represented his country 51 times.
