Khabib Nurmagovedov is known for his love of football, jumping at the chance of a photo with Liverpool star Virgil van Dijk during his injury recovery in Dubai - and fans had a request for the UFC star
Lhabib Nurmagomedov’s snap with Virgil van Dijk has sent Liverpool fans wild, all asking the UFC star the same thing.
The Russian has been in Dubai, speaking to Dana White about a potential comeback from retirement - the same weekend that rival Conor McGregor lost to Dustin Poirier.
It has seen The Eagle train at the world-class facilities of the Nad Al Sheba Sports Complex, not far away from UFC’s Fight Island base.
Khabib has been training there at the same time as Liverpool’s centre-back, in recovery from an ACL tear picked up in the Merseyside derby last October.
The UFC Lightweight Champion is known to be a football fan, showing off his skills during a celebrity football match earlier this month.

And the 32-year-old took the chance to have a photo with the Premier League winner at the complex’s gym.
Sharing the snap on Instagram, Khabib said: “It was nice to meet you Virgil at NAS Sports Complex.
"I wish you get well and recovery soon, I know what it is injures, be patient.”
The post received more than 700,000 likes within three hours of posting – and the Anfield faithful took the chance to send their own message to the fighting football fan.

"Join Liverpool - we need another CB,” one supporter said.
Another commented: “Khabib can you play CB?”
While a third wrote: “Come to Liverpool bro!”
And a fourth simply added: “Join Liverpool.”
It is not the first time Khabib has shown his appreciation of the Anfield side, though, as he spoke about the club in his plans for the future.

Speaking ahead of his win over Justin Gathje in October, the Russian said: “After this fight, I am going to travel a lot.
"I really want to watch a lot of games - Manchester [United], Liverpool, Manchester City.
"I know they have big stadiums and a lot of history.”
And the 32-year-old could get some experience on the pitch as he has been offered a football contract in Russia’s third tier, described as the “UFC of football”.
