Mesut Ozil's flight from London to Istanbul on Sunday night was tracked by over 300,000 fans ahead of his 'dream' transfer to Fenerbahce.
The German midfielder said goodbye to his former Arsenal team-mates at the club's London Colney training base on Sunday morning as he ended a seven-year spell with the North London club.
And just hours later, Ozil, who is set to take a big paycut in order to join the Turkish giants, with a £65,000 per-week contract being reported, stepped on a plane to Turkey's largest city ahead of further transfer discussions.
He posted a number of pictures from the aircraft on social media and, as he made his way to Istanbul, a total of 312,676 people tuned in to track the World Cup winner's flight. That's actually ridiculous.
Ozil later announced himself as a Fenerbahce player on Monday after months of speculation surrounding his future at The Emirates.
"I am so happy. I'm a Fenerbahce fan. God wanted me to play football in Fenerbahce. I'm proud." he told NTV ahead of his medical.
"I am coming tonight with my family to Istanbul, thank God who gave me the opportunity to represent this club. I will wear the shirt with pride."
The German midfielder is also expected to wear the number 67 shirt because his hometown of Zonguldak in Turkey has a postal code beginning with 67.
Despite once being a key member of Arsenal's squad under Arsene Wenger, Ozil has struggled to maintain a place in the club's starting line-up of late.
The German's influence, however, was undeniable at the top of his game. In the 2015/16 campaign he picked up 19 assists in 35 Premier League matches.
And to mark his legacy at the North London club, Talksport pundit Adrian Durham believes Ozil is deserving of a statue outside the Emirates.
"In the Emirates era has there been a more talented player loved by the fans? Does he deserve recognition in the form of a statue or is that going too far?" Durham asked.
Thoughts on Ozil's move to Fenerbahce? Does he really deserve a statue at The Emirates?
