Manchester United ace Donny van de Beek is reportedly being targeted by Juventus as the Serie A giants plot an audacious transfer raid.

Juve boss Andrea Pirlo will attempt to take Van de Beek on loan next summer with an option to buy, according to reports in Italy.

Van de Beek was instrumental in United's 4-1 Champions League win over Istanbul Basaksehir, excelling as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side took a 3-0 lead by half-time.

He then helped to set up Daniel James' goal late in the second half which completed the scoring at Old Trafford.

Midfielder Van de Beek has yet to make a Premier League start since joining United from Ajax for £40million in the summer transfer window.

However, he has started his side's last three Champions League matches and both their Carabao Cup ties.

And after showing what he can do on Tuesday, the 23-year-old will hope to nail down a place in Solskjaer's starting line-up for domestic action too.

If he continues to miss out, however, United fans will fear he could be tempted by the prospect of teaming up in Turin with former Ajax team-mate and fellow Dutch international Matthijs de Ligt.

Juventus are weighing up a swoop for the midfielder next summer, according to Calciomercato.

The Italian publication reports that the Serie A champions want to take Van de Beek on a season-long loan, with an option to buy for €35m (£31m).

Juve signed centre-half De Ligt from Ajax last year following the Dutch side's impressive run to the Champions League semi-finals - in which Van de Beek also starred.

Pirlo is said to be an admirer of Van de Beek, with Calciomercato claiming that the legendary former midfielder will have a better understanding of how to use his talents than United boss Solskjaer, who played as a striker.

However, a move for Van de Beek on those terms would represent a poor return on United's investment in the midfielder, who is contracted until 2025.

And Red Devils fans will hope that he starts to see more action following his impressive showing against Basaksehir.
