FIFA has been thrown into turmoil after president Gianni Infantino tested positive for Covid-19.
Infantino, 50, is believed to have contracted the virus within the last few days and will now be forced to self isolate at his Swiss base for up to two weeks.
Infantino is said to have shown 'mild symptoms' of Coronavirus, but FIFA bosses will now have to track down all those he came into contact with since the weekend to inform them of the news.
This is thought to involve dozens of officials from world football's governing body - and all of them will now have to undergo tests.
A FIFA statement said: "FIFA President Gianni Infantino has received confirmation that he has tested positive for coronavirus.
"The FIFA president, who has reported mild symptoms, has immediately placed himself in self-isolation and will remain in quarantine for at least ten days.
"All people who came into contact with the FIFA president during the last few days have been informed accordingly and they are being requested to take the necessary steps. FIFA sincerely wishes president Infantino a speedy recovery."
The pandemic continues to wreak havoc around the footballing world, with Italian giants Lazio seeing their preparations for this week's Champions League clash with Club Brugge thrown into chaos following an outbreak of Covid-19 in the squad.
Juventus superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, meanwhile, is anxiously awaiting the results of a second Covid-19 test ahead of his side's showdown with rival Lionel Messi's Barcelona.
Ronaldo has been self-isolating at home since he tested positive while away on international duty with Portugal on October 13.
The 35-year-old recorded another positive result last Thursday, throwing into doubt his chances of facing Barca in Turin tomorrow.
