Liverpool stars Sadio Mane and Thiago Alcantara could be fit for the Merseyside derby with Everton having returned the training.

The Reds duo had been been self-isolating having each tested positive for Covid-19 recently.

Though it’s believed the pair are back to full health with the Daily Mirror reporting that they returned to training and could be ready for the clash with Everton.

Liverpool play their Merseyside rivals on Saturday as the Premier League returns following the international break.

The Reds followed the protocols to introduce the two back to their squad with Mane and Thiago both isolating for ten day periods.

Their return comes with Naby Keita now in isolation as the midfielder awaits results of a second test.

Speaking earlier this month about the coronavirus and difficulties with players heading off on international duty, Klopp admitted: "I don't want to sound disrespectful about how other countries are doing it but this is the place that we know and we know how we are dealing with it.

"So I am slightly concerned because it is difficult to be in contact with all FAs (football associations) all over the world.

"I understand it, I really understand how difficult the situation is but it's not exactly perfect, the information we get from certain FAs.

"As a football club you are pretty alone in these moments, we send the players away and then we have another challenge because we have to play a Premier League game on a Saturday after they have travelled from, maybe Peru, on the Thursday or Friday.

"You have to make sure you bring the players home in the quickest and safest way and then we have to see how they are before we try to get a result on the Saturday."

Reigning Premier League champions Liverpool have won three of their first four fixtures, thrashed 7-2 by Aston Villa in their last match.
