Manchester United fans have joked they now have no chance of signing Jadon Sancho after the ‘World’s sexiest athlete’ was brought in to train Borussia Dortmund stars.

Olympic hopeful Alica Schmidt, 21, is a middle-distance runner who also sets pulses racing as a model.

The German burst onto the scene at the 2017 European Athletics Under-20 Championships, helping Germany take silver in the 4x400 relay.

She later helped the national quartet claim bronze at the U23 European Championships.

And her good looks led to Australian magazine ‘Busted Coverage’ branding her the ‘Sexiest Athlete in the World’.

As she is sponsored by Puma like the club, Schmidt was invited to give Dortmund stars a workout at their Brackel training complex.

The blonde bombshell performed a series of lunges and stretches alongside the likes of Thomas Meaner, Manuel Akanji and Felix Passlack.

She then gave Mats Hummels a 400m race and left the 31-year-old defender for dead.

While sprawled across the floor, Hummels said afterwards: ”I really underestimated that.”

And United fans believe Schmidt’s presence could ruin their chances of signing £108million-rated star Sancho, taking to social media to joke that the 20-year-old will now want to stay at Dortmund this summer.

One wrote: “Sancho, I know why you haven’t left Dortmund yet, bro.”

“They’re doing everything they can to keep Sancho,” said another.

“Only way Utd are signing Sancho is if they include the fitness coach in the deal,” wrote a third fan.

While one simply put: “Now we know why Sancho stayed”.

United have been desperate to sign Sancho throughout the summer transfer window, but Dortmund’s £108million asking price has so far proved a stumbling block.

Daily Star Sport understands the Red Devils are set to launch a first and final bid worth £90million before next week’s transfer deadline.

They remain confident about prising the England youngster away from Germany, despite Schmidt’s newfound role at Dortmund.
