Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp will undoubtedly be watching the match between Germany vs Spain with a certain interest in a few players on show.

The international break may have come at a tough time for domestic managers due to the start of the Premier League, but Germany vs Spain in particular offers a scouting opportunity for many top bosses. Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp will most likely be one of them with continued rumours surrounding Thiago Alcantara.

The Bayern Munich midfielder has made it clear that he wants to leave this summer and Liverpool is his preferred destination.

Any move for Thiago will likely depend on Georginio Wijnaldum's future.

The Holland international is being heavily linked with a move to Barcelona to link back up with Ronald Koeman.

Klopp will almost certainly have that money available to him to reinvest if Wijnaldum is sold.

Liverpool reportedly hold a strong interest in signing Thiago, who Bayern value at roughly £27million.

And Klopp will get a close look at Thiago on international duty this evening in the Nations League match against Germany.

But he may not be the only Spanish player the Liverpool boss will keep a close eye on.

While Thiago offers that elite, winning mentality, signing a 29-year-old goes against Liverpool's transfer policy over the past few years.

Liverpool's midfield has also lacked goals in recent years since Philippe Coutinho left and that's not part of Thiago's game.

Another option in the Spain squad who would fit Liverpool's transfer model along with offering that attacking threat would be Dani Olmo.

The 22-year-old only joined RB Leipzig in January from Dinamo Zagreb so he would likely be seen as a long-term target for Liverpool.

But the Spaniard has already established himself as a star of the future as well as proving his versatility to also play out wide.

Liverpool already have history of dealing with RB Leipzig having signed Naby Keita in 2018 and they could well use their connections again.

More pressing than signing a midfielder though could be bringing in another centre-back to replace Dejan Lovren.

And young Pau Torres is seen as the future of Spain's defence to take over the mantle from Sergio Ramos one day.

The Villareal defender is already attracting plenty of interest from Manchester United with the 23-year-old reportedly valued at £45m.

Liverpool have indicated that they won't have that kind of money to spend this summer but with both Joel Matip and Joe Gomez missing plenty of games through injuries over the last few years, signing another centre-back could be seen as a paramount investment.
