Kai Havertz is set to become a Chelsea player after an initial £72million transfer fee was agreed.

Chelsea and Leverkusen chiefs have agreed on the fee with two £9million bonus payments also included for future performances.

The potential bonus payments are reportedly for a number of 'complicated' clauses, including if Chelsea win the Champions League inside the next five seasons.

Havertz has already agreed personal terms with Chelsea.

Leverkusen manager Peter Bosz said earlier on Monday that Havertz will never train with the club again.

Havertz missed Leverkusen's final round of fitness assessments before linking up with the international squad over the weekend.

And Havertz appears to be pushing for a switch to the Premier League himself, having taken matters into his own hands by going AWOL from sessions.

Bosz said: "I no longer expect Kevin Volland and Kai Havertz to train with us again.

"It's possible that other players will be on the move as well. In any case, we have to bring in some players, too."

Havertz, 21, attended on Friday and Saturday for two coronavirus tests to play for Germany, but was missing on Sunday.

Havertz is set to become the club’s record signing when the deal goes through.

It will take Chelsea's summer spending past £200million.

Hakim Ziyech was brought in from Ajax for £36million, while Timo Werner sealed a £54million switch from RB Leipzig earlier this summer.

The west London club also forked out £50million to sign Ben Chilwell from Leicester last week, while Thiago Silva signed on a free transfer.

Havertz isn't the only additional signing they've got their eye on though.

Amid concerns over Kepa Arrizabalaga’s form, it is believed Lampard also wants to bring in a new goalkeeper before the window slams shut - with Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak on his radar.
