Manchester United star Paul Pogba is set to stay at the club this summer.

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba will stay at the club this summer, according to his agent Mino Raiola. The World Cup winner is happy to remain at Old Trafford and talks over a new contract are expected soon.

Pogba has been linked with a move away from United earlier this year with Real Madrid and Juventus linked.

The 27-year-old is now happy to stay after the Red Devils were able to finish third in the Premier League and secure Champions League football.

Mino Raiola told Sky Sports Italia: “Pogba is staying at Manchester United and I think they are trying to extend his contract. We’ll discuss that soon, no stress.

“Manchester United have a project and he is 100 per cent a part of that. They won’t accept any offer for Pogba this summer.”

Pogba struggled to make an impression in the first half of the season due to injury.

But the Frenchman came back strong when the Premier League restarted after lockdown and forged a successful partnership with Bruno Fernandes.

Pogba is now happy to stay at United as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to close the gap on the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City.

The midfielder made just 16 Premier League appearances and will hope to play a crucial role for the Red Devils throughout next season.

Reports in Italy had claimed new Juventus boss Andrea Pirlo was keen on bringing Pogba back to Turin.

A swap deal for either Aaron Ramsey or Paulo Dybala was mooted but that will not be happening.

Earlier in the year Solskjaer and Pogba's agent Raiola were involved in a war of words over the player's future.

The Norwegian was strong in his response to comments made by the super-agent over his client.

"I've not spoken to Mino, that is for sure," Solskjaer said.

"And, no, I haven't sat down and told Paul to tell Mino what he should say. Paul is our player and not Mino's."

Last month Solskjaer made it clear he hopes Pogba will sign a new contract at Old Trafford.

“Hopefully we can do something,” the manager said.

“I know that since Paul’s come back he’s looking better and better. He’s enjoying his football and let’s see where it takes us.

“I can’t comment on [any] discussion between player and the club but of course we want to keep the best players around the club.

“We want to build a squad for the future and Scott and Nemanja are [of] a similar [status] but at different stages in their careers. One at the start, one really experienced one. We also need players in the mid-range group.”
