Aaron Ramsey left Arsenal for Juventus last year but could be moving back to the Premier League soon.

Aaron Ramsey will be allowed to leave Juventus on a free transfer this summer just over 12 months after he joined from Arsenal, according to transfer expert Ian McGarry. Ramsey left Arsenal in the summer of 2019 at the end of his contract at the Emirates. He signed a four-year deal with Juventus and won the Serie A title in his first campaign at the club.

However, Ramsey made just 11 league starts under Maurizio Sarri and struggled with injury problems.

Juve crashed out of the Champions League at the last-16 stage on Friday on away goals to French side Lyon.

That led to Sarri being sacked by the club at the weekend and the former Chelsea boss was replaced by newly-appointed under-21s manager Andrea Pirlo.

Reports have since claimed Ramsey will be allowed to leave the club this summer.

But McGarry says Juventus are so keen to get Ramsey's wages off their books that they will not ask for a transfer fee.

Everton are interested in the 29-year-old, as are Napoli and Roma.

"What interests us the most is the news that we can bring you that Wales international midfielder Aaron Ramsey, who himself only moved to Turin last summer, is made available on a free transfer," McGarry said on the Transfer Window podcast.

"Remember he joined from Arsenal for free in the summer of 2019 but is being allowed to leave after a disappointing first term in Italian football.

"It's our understanding that, with no transfer fee, Ramsey's salary in the remaining years of a very lucrative contract worth €150,000 net per week, he will receive some compensation on that to make it easier for him to go and there is interest from one Premier League club who we understand to be Everton and Carlo Ancelotti is keen to sign an attacking midfielder who can also break up play, the old classic [Frank] Lampard role of box-to-box of course.

"However, that salary would definitely be a problem for Everton to match.

"But there's also interest from Napoli and Roma, where because of tax laws in Italy they certainly can, and if they're able, be willing to match Ramsey's current earnings."
