Chelsea new boy Timo Werner was at Stamford Bridge to watch his new club battle it out for a Champions League place on the final day of Premier League action.

The £47.5m signing from RB Leipzig revealed he was in London yesterday in a social media post which was 'liked' by another Blues target in Kai Havertz.

His last game for the Bundesliga club came in the 2-1 win over FC Augsburg on June 27th in which Werner scored twice.

And he was spotted arriving at stamford Bridge to see his new team-mates take on Wolves with a Champions League place at stake.

Chelsea fans have high hopes for Timo Werner

Werner himself announced that he was indeed in attendance to see Chelsea face Wolves soon after with a tweet that was captioned: "My new home! Come on @ChelseaFC"

He will join fellow new signing Hakim Ziyech, who has already joined up with the Chelsea squad and taken part in a number of training sessions.

With Frank Lampard's side struggling to break down Wolves, plenty of Chelsea fans replied asking Werner to take to the pitch.

"Can you put your kit on and play please mate," asked one Blues fan.

Another agreed, stating: "Can you put on a shirt and replace mount please?"

"Hero! Just get on the pitch right away!" added a third.

Fans that spotted Havertz had liked Werner's Instagram post the day before were convinced that it meant he was on his way to Stamford Bridge too.

One eagle-eyed fan wrote: "Kai Havertz admired Werner 's picture while arriving in London....coming soon?"

Another posted: "Timo Werner has landed in London and ready for the Chelsea’s adventure and Kai Havertz also liked the post."

A third said: "Havertz liked the Werner Insta post pretty quickly, I just want Havertz and UCL football, on my knees."

Another commented: "Looks like somebody knows he is next."

Havertz similarly got Chelsea fans excited last month when he "liked" a happy birthday message from Antonio Rudiger on Twitter.
