VFL Bochum are willing to listen to offers of around £4.5 million for Armel Bella-Kotchap amid claims that Tottenham Hotspur and Wolverhampton Wanderers are interested, according to RevierSport.
There is a reason why France are the current World champions.
While much is made about their star-studded front line, Didier Deschamps also has some of the finest young defensive talents on planet earth fighting for a place in his Les Blues team.
It speaks volumes about France’s strength in depth that the likes of Aymeric Laporte, Dayot Upamecano, Kurt Zouma, Dan-Axel Zagadou, Boubacar Kamara, William Saliba and Evan N’Dicka have not even come close to establishing themselves in Deschamps’ squad.
But France appear to have let one slip through the net in the shape of Paris-born Bella-Kotchap.
A youngster who is pulling up trees for Bochum has already earned five caps for Germany at youth level though his next step could be a move to England.
The Sun claimed in March that Tottenham, Sheffield United, Chelsea and a Wolves side who have a habit of snapping up under-the-radar teen talents are all interested.
With football’s ongoing financial crisis forcing clubs to re-set the values of even their prized assets, RevierSport suggest that Bella-Kotchap could be sold for a fee of just £4.5 million.
