Leeds United to snub Zlatan Ibrahimovic pursuit for free agent Edinson Cavani

Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani has opened up on his side’s chances of an unlikely deal with Zlatan Ibrahimovic after the former Manchester United striker snubbed their advances for AC Milan in January
Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani has addressed transfer links with Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Edinson Cavani.
The Championship winners are already scouring the market for possible reinforcements after ensuring their place in the Premier League for the 2020/21 season.
The 38-year-old striker has had a mixed time during his return to Italy and scored five goals in 14 Serie A outings, and it appears as though his short-term deal will not be extended into the new campaign.
Radrizzani has now spoken about whether an agreement might be possible, before turning attentions to his former PSG team-mate Edinson Cavani.

"Ibrahimovic will certainly be difficult,” said the club’s majority owner in an interview with Sky Sports Italy.
"We tried to sign him in January, but he chose to join Milan and the deal vanished.
"Now I think it’s too late, the intensity of English football is different.”
Ibrahimovic rejected the chance to join Marcelo Bielsa at Elland Road earlier this year after leaving LA Galaxy, but their recent promotion has pushed them towards PSG forward Cavani.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic was reportedly involved in a training ground confrontation with AC Milan chief Ivan Gazidis on Wednesday
The 33-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season and will be available on a free transfer, which is something that has caught the eye of Radrizzani.
He added: “In addition to his quality, Cavani could contribute with his physicality and adapt here, but I’ve never talked about him with the coach.
"Having said that, we’ve certainly thought about him and we’ll see, given he’s still available on a free transfer.”
Leeds CEO Angus Kinnear told Sky Sports about their transfer plans earlier this week: "We know we need to strengthen.

"Targets have been identified. We're working on them already, we're working on them now - today it's started in earnest.
"And (we know) that recruitment is going to be the biggest challenge because the window is so short.
"If you look at our business model, the size of our fanbase means that we can generate commercial revenues in the top third of the Premier League teams.
"With the TV money being fairly evenly spread other than the performance related element, it means we immediately have a competitive advantage if we can harness that fanbase and use those resources to compete in the transfer market.”
