EXCLUSIVE: EFL Championship action is set to resume on June 20 after a timetable was agreed to complete the 2019/20 campaign by the end of July.
Championship clubs have finally pencilled in Saturday, June 20 as the date football will return to England.
With Premier League managers holding out for a full month's training before the top flight resumes, that is likely to beat their Project Restart by a matter of days.
The key date for EFL clubs is July 31, when players' current contractual terms expire and could cause mayhem to the integrity of the competition.
So clubs have agreed to rush through the remaining nine games of the programme in five Saturdays and four mid-week slots to finish on July 18 – leaving just enough time to complete the play-offs.

Hull City are the only team thought to be against resuming the campaign and the EFL board are focusing simply on getting teams back training.
Players have signed a 47-page dossier of protocols surrounding social distancing at the training ground and the first round of blanket testing will be completed in time for a return to action on Monday.
No formal timetable was set at yesterday's meeting to discuss a number of procedural issues concerning all three divisions of the EFL.
