Paunovic urges Real Madrid to stick with Jovic

Chicago Fire coach Veljko Paunovic has urged Real Madrid to stick with Luka Jovic.
Real Madrid signed Jovic from Eintracht Frankfurt for around 60 million euros in July 2019, but the Serbian striker has struggled to make an impact, only managing to rack up 15 appearances and two goals before LaLiga Santander was suspended.
"We all hoped to see more of Jovic and I think he's had enough time to adapt," Paunovic told Radio MARCA.
"But I still have a lot of confidence in him."
Paunovic has suggested that Jovic might be missing an older and more influential player, who can guide the youngster through the pitfalls of playing for a club like Real Madrid.
"He [Zinedine Zidane] has taken good care of Jovic," Paunovic continued.
"But I think he is missing a veteran to show him how these big teams like Real Madrid, Barcelona or Atletico Madrid work.
"Jovic has to do his part and find someone to be his mentor.
"The demand at Real Madrid is extreme and you have to be up to it."
