The PSG star flew to Brazil midway through March so he could hole up in his luxury mansion in the resort of Mangaratiba as the killer virus swept across France with devastating consequences.

The 28-year-old has now gone over a month without football after Covid-19 put sport across Europe on standby.

That hasn't stopped the Ligue 1 winger continuing his gruelling workouts to maintain his fitness ahead of the French top flight's eventual return.

PSG could be back in action as early as June and may need to be as club chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi warns of “colossal” financial losses.

Megabucks earner, Neymar with his £615k pay packet leave Les Parisiens hoping to bring the forward back from Brazil sooner rather than later.

But with no date set, the Brazil ace has admitted he feels anxious amid the growing uncertainty surrounding the coronavirus crisis, and expressed his desire to be playing again.

He told Sport: "Not knowing when we are going to return causes anxiety. I really miss playing, competing, the club vibe, my PSG teammates. I really miss football.

"I am sure that people also want to see us all on the field as soon as possible. I hope the decision comes as soon as possible."

Neymar's lockdown pad boasts six bedrooms, a huge wine cellar and other self-isolation essentials – like a gym, tennis court, sauna, massage room, spa and jacuzzi.

The plush home which he splashed out on in 2016, is built on a two-and-a-half acre plot and rests in the exclusive and gated estate called Portobello.

He also stayed there in 2018 before the World Cup to nurse his broken foot.

The forward recently hit back at claims he is not taking the coronavirus seriously and ignoring social distancing guidelines after posting a pic on social media with four pals and his son Davi Lucca, 8, playing volleyball.

But he was applauded after he was revealed to be the man behind a secret £770,000 donation.

When Ligue 1 kicks off again, speculation over Neymar's potential switch to Barcelona will resume.

The world's most expensive player would reportedly have to take a £26million pay cut if he returns to the Nou Camp.

Neymar nearly returned to the Catalan giants from PSG last summer but remains hopeful he can still complete his dream move.

PSG are keen to offer the Brazilian superstar a new contract worth even more, than his current deal, according to reports.

But the winger has a long standing admiration for Barca's Lionel Messi and is said to be desperate to link up with the Argentine next season.
