BAYERN MUNICH are hoping to land Leroy Sane for a knockdown fee of around £61million this summer.

The Bundesliga giants remain keen on Manchester City’s German international despite his injury woes this season.

City were looking for around £140 million for Sane last summer – but he is down to the last 12 months of his Etihad contract now.

He has also missed the whole of the current campaign after damaging his cruciate ligament at Wembley in the Community Shield.

Reports in Germany suggest Bayern will look to use those two factors to try to nab the ex-Schalke man on the cheap.

Pep Guardiola has not given up hope of persuading Sane to stay and a new contract remains on the table at his current club.

But if they do sell, City are likely to demand considerably more than Bayern’s estimate – meaning it could be a long drawn out process.

If Sane does leave it could open the door for Dutch teen ace Jayden Braaf to step into the first team reckoning.

There has been interest from Germany in the 17-year-old flier but director of football Txiki Begiristain has been impressed and wants Guardiola to take a close look.

Sane cost City £37million in the summer of 2016, shortly after his 20th birthday, and the second half of that season saw him become an established first-teamer.

The following two years, in which City won the Premier League title on both occasions, featured the winger in top form as he notched 24 goals and 35 assists in all competitions.
