Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho has come under fire from London Mayor Sadiq Khan.

Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho broke the UK's lockdown policy to hold a one-on-one training session with Tanguy Ndombele on Tuesday and London Mayor Sadiq Khan is furious. doors in June.

"Ask yourself a question. Is what I’m doing really necessary? And the answer is no.

"What you’re doing is inadvertently potentially spreading the virus."

North London Labour MP Catherine West added: "This is deeply irresponsible.

"Many people look to football for their role models, and to have the Government's crucial ‘stay at home’ advice so clearly flaunted is a kick in the teeth."

Mourinho has been generously helping out in his free time by preparing food for the elderly.

And the Portugese boss knows he made a mistake by linking up with one of his players.

"I accept that my actions were not in line with government protocol and we must only have contact with members of our own household," he said.

"It is vital we all play our part and follow government advice in order to support our heroes in the NHS and save lives."

A Tottenham spokesperson said: "All of our players have been reminded to respect social distancing when exercising outdoors.

"We shall continue to reinforce this message."

The Premier League season is postponed indefinitely but there are talks ongoing with the government to resume play behind closed doors.
