Cristiano Ronaldo hilariously trolled his Portugal teammate Bruno Fernandes after the Manchester United star took part in his Instagram ab workout challenge.

Juventus man Ronaldo challenged fans to take part in a 'core crusher' workout over the weekend in a bid to keep themselves busy in the midst of the coronavirus lockdown.

He himself managed an impressive 142 reps in 45 seconds, while Fernandes could only manage 117 in the same amount of time.

After giving it a go, the midfielder wrote '#NikeLivingRoomCup – Week One. 117 Abs in 45 seconds. Not bad for a Sunday…'

However, Ronaldo replied on his own Instagram story saying: 'train your arms instead!'

Some friendly banter between teammates never fails to get a good reaction but Fernandes will not mind.

He has made a brilliant start to life at Old Trafford since moving from Sporting Lisbon in the January transfer window.

United were in need of some creative spark in their midfield and the Portuguese certainly gave them that in the few matches he played before all games were postponed.

The 25-year-old registered three goals and three assists in his eight games in a red shirt.

The Nike Living Room Cup challenge is an initiative being promoted by sports stars in order to encourage exercising indoors during the coronavirus crisis.

A number of other footballers have tried to beat Cristiano's score, including South Africa's finest Siphiwe Tshabalala, who scored 'that' goal in the opening game of the 2010 World Cup.

Not to mention the likes of Ansu Fati, Blaise Matuidi, as well as Fernandes.

Ronaldo's total was beaten though, with South African runner Caster Semenya pulling off 176 reps.
