Manchester United loanee Cameron Borthwick-Jackson will be in contention to return to the starting XI for Oldham’s Sky Bet League Two clash with Newport.
The 23-year-old defender missed the 2-2 draw at Leyton Orient due to the birth of his child.
Fellow defender David Wheater will also be in contention to return to the squad after serving a suspension.
First-team coach Dino Maamria will have a fully-fit squad to choose from following the return of Wheater, with the Latics looking for only their third victory in their last 13 league fixtures.
Newport were boosted by the return of George Nurse on Tuesday night against Grimsby following a spell on the sidelines.
He could feature again but club captain Joss Labadie will miss Saturday’s game after picking up a suspension.
Mark O’Brien is unlikely to feature, while Nick Townsend, Ash Baker and Daniel Leadbitter look set to be sidelined for the rest of the season.
Newport will be looking to pick up their third win in their last seven league games.
